Shannon Parry

Shannon Parry OAM is a dual Olympian, winning gold at the 2016 Rio Olympics as a member of the Australian rugby 7s team. She is a member of both the national Wallaroos rugby union and rugby 7s teams, has competed in four Rugby World Cups, captains both the Wallaroos and the SuperW Queensland Reds sides, and coaches the National Emerging 7s side.

After playing her first game in 2008, Shannon made her Wallaroos debut at the Women's Rugby World Cup in England in 2010. That same year she graduated from Griffith University with a Bachelor of Secondary Education and taught secondary HPE and geography from 2010 to 2014.

Shannon captained the Australian 15s side at the next three World Cups in 2014, 2017and 2021 and became a Commonwealth Games silver medallist at the Gold Coast in 2018 in rugby 7s.

She has captained the Queensland Reds SuperW team since 2021 and is now sharing her wealth of experience and knowledge of the sport, with Rugby Australia appointing her to the full time role of coach of the National Emerging 7s Coach in 2021.
