Rowie Webster

Rowie Webster is a triple Olympian, collecting a Bronze at the London Olympics and then proved herself a natural leader at the Rio and Tokyo Olympics.

Rowie retired after the Tokyo Olympic Games in 2021, as National Women’s captain and one of 3 players in the history of Australian water polo to reach 300 international caps (games).

An inspiration to so many people- we thought she was unbreakable- sadly that wasn’t the case. A painful back injury- which seemingly came out of nowhere- grounded her for seven months in 2018 and again tempted the qualified school teacher to take the plunge into retirement. Fortunately for Australian water polo she refused to quit and captained the Stingers to World Cup bronze in Russia 2018, and  steered the team to a 2019 World Champions Bronze.

And in case there was anyone in Australian sport who didn’t realise there is something very special about this young woman she is also a proud LGBT role model- who recently became engaged to Ella. Little wonder Rowie is admired and liked by all who meet her.
