Lisa Champion

For over 35 years, together with my husband and business partner, I was involved in the leadership of two companies that services the needs of fitness professionals in Australia.

My first Master's degree was in Exercise Science and for many years I worked in all aspects of the fitness industry: teaching, training, presenting at conferences, developing curriculum for educational courses and working as an exercise therapist. Among other things, our company ran the largest conference and trade show for fitness professionals in Asia-Pacific for more than 25 years. In 2013, I won a Lifetime Achievement Award for my services to the fitness industry in Australia.

Thirteen years ago, I began to become more interested in the emotional toll of chronic pain and began studying counselling. I slowly made a full transition to working as a counsellor and psychotherapist. I received a Master's degree in Counselling and was received the Outstanding Achievement Award for my work and research during that course. I am currently completing my doctorate in Psychotherapy. Retired from working in the fitness industry, I now have a private practice seeing individuals and couples and providing both clinical and professional supervision in Pyrmont, NSW.
