Kim Ellwood

In 2023, Kim has re-engaged with the High Performance Sporting Sector and is currently working as a Performance Director at the Western Australian Institute of Sport (WAIS).  For the past five years, Kim has been the Executive Director of Sport and Recreation and the Office of Multicultural Interests as part of the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries. Kim has worked in and with the community sector for the past 25 years through not for profit organisations, local and State government. She has spent time studying and training in the sport of athletics in the United States of America and now with two post graduate degrees in Management, she has used her passion and background in the sporting sector to contribute to community development outcomes. Kim has also been a board member of Gymnastics WA and vice-president of Volleyball WA and board member of WAIS and has received an Australian Sports Medal for her service to Sport in Australia and received an Order of Merit for Volleyball Western Australia. She spent 12 years travelling with the Australian Wheelchair Rugby Team (men) as Team Manager and was involved in three Paralympic Games and four World Championships. She resigned from this role to start a family but still stays connected to the sport and the team as they focus on the Paris Paralympic Games.
