A Melbourne native training with Scott Talbot at Nunawading Swimming Club, Hansen made her Australian Dolphins debut at the 2016 World Short Course Championships in Windsor, winning a bronze in the 4x100m medley relay. She recently picked up two medals at the 2018 Pan Pacific Championships – a gold in the 4x100m medley relay and a silver in the 100m breaststroke. In late 2018 she claimed a bronze at the World Short Course Championship in China, which was shortly before she was named as one of five leaders on the Dolphins leadership team. Jess recently graduated with a double degree of Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science and Bachelor of Business (Sport Management) with distinction.
