Yale Steinepreis is a high performance athlete with the Australian Institute of Sport. Competing as a Sprint Kayaker, Yale is recognised as one of the best performing female athletes within her discipline.
In 2023 Yale won the Silver Medal in the K1 200m at the World Championships and the year prior in the K4 500m, which along side her fellow team mates won Paddle Australia’s Team of The Year. Further at the 2023 World Championships in the K4 500m qualified Australia with 4 quota spots for the 2024 Paris Olympics.
As an Australian National Champion Yale paves the way for women in sport and was recognised for her achievements as a finalist in the 2023 Paddle Australia Olympic Paddler of the year and the 2022 Western Australia Sports Star of the Year.
Yale is a confident presenter of her journey which she has done so through many programs including presenting The Good Village program through the AIS to inspire the next generation and teach students about what it takes to create a healthy, supportive and sustainable community.
In addition to her athletic achievements, Yale has been awarded for her academic excellence at Griffith University in the study the Juris Doctor. In 2022 and 2023 Yale was awarded the prestigious Blues Award from Griffith University for her outstanding sporting performance in addition to the sporting excellence scholarship.
