Naomi McCarthy OAM

Naomi McCarthy OAM represented Australia at two Olympic Games (2000 and 2004), winning a gold medal in Sydney 2000 and had the honour of leading her country at Athens in 2004.

Representing Queensland and Australia in water polo, Naomi was named in the top ten athletes of the decade for the Queensland Academy of Sport, is a QSport Hall of Fame Member and a member of the Water Polo Australia Hall of Fame.

Naomi has remained heavily involved in sport since her retirement, serving as a board member for the Queensland Rugby League and Queensland Academy of Sport.

In her current role at Griffith University, McCarthy is the manager of the Griffith Sports College, where she works closely with many professional and Olympic sports and their elite athletes.
