Keesja Gofers

Since stepping up to the senior national team in 2010, Gofers has become an important player in the Aussie Stingers squad, using her time with the ball effectively and provides a valuable source of knowledge for her teammates. As Sydney Uni Club captain, Gofers helped her team to back to back National League Championships.

Keesja is a two-time Olympian. She competed at the Rio Games and has just returned from the Tokyo Olympics, where the Aussie Stingers finished 5th. Keesja was a member of the leadership team for these most recent Olympic Games. She won the silver medal at the 2013 World Aquatics Championships in Barcelona, Spain, and the bronze medal at the 2019 World Aquatics Championships in Gwangju, South Korea. As a junior, Keesja was part of the gold medal winning team of 2007 for the Junior World Championships in Porto, Portugal.

Outside of Water Polo, Keesja’s other passion is floristry, and she has recently launched her own business K-Gro, providing high performance workshops and team building sessions for corporate teams, featuring floral arrangements and beach water polo. She is also currently working as the Water Polo Australia Alumni Coordinator as well as sharing her Water Polo knowledge with junior athletes through various coaching roles.
