Janelle Cuthbertson

Janelle brings over a decade of experience across elite sports and sports administration, combining leadership on the field with strategic and operational skills off the field. Having spent years pursuing a career in professional tennis before switching codes to AFLW, she has represented both Fremantle and Port Adelaide Football Clubs, serving as Vice Captain in 2023 and Captain in 2024.

Her professional background includes key roles in sport development and operations, including positions at the West Australian Cricket Association as Female Participation Specialist, and at Netball WA as Sport Development Manager overseeing high-performance athlete, coach, and official pathways. Janelle has also held roles across both State and Local Government working in the Club Development space.

Since relocating to Adelaide, she has contributed to Port Adelaide Football Club’s Commercial Operations and Project Management teams, supporting the delivery of strategic initiatives and commercial partnerships and servicing.

Janelle graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in Sports Management and is currently completing her certificate in Athlete Wellbeing and Development through Torrens University. Having been an athlete and understanding some of the complexities and challenges of elite level sport and navigating careers outside of sport, Janelle is deeply passionate about fostering environments that are not only inclusive but empower athletes and specifically females to excel both on and off the field.
