Izzy Huntington was drafted with pick 1 by the Western Bulldogs in the 2017 national draft.
Huntington only managed five games in her first two seasons after suffering two knee injuries. However, her move from the forward line to defence in 2020 saw her named the 2020 AFLW Rising Star, win the Western Bulldogs Best & Fairest award and earn All Australian honours.
Huntington made a successful return to her natural forward line role in 2021. She kicked 12 goals for the season, finished third in the Bulldog’s Best & Fairest award and was named in the AFLW 22Under22 team.
Off the field, Izzy graduated with a Bachelor of Science at the University of Melbourne in 2020 and is currently completing an Honours year undertaking research in the field of biomedical engineering with surgical applications. She has aspirations to work in the medical field in the future.
