Georgina Robinson

In a 20-year career in journalism, Georgina was a news reporter in Brisbane and Sydney, covering the Lockyer Valley floods and some of the biggest breaking stories for Nine’s print and digital stable, including state and federal elections.

Prior to this, Georgina was at the forefront of Australia’s digital media revolution as a producer and presenter with the ABC’s New Media division. A senior sports writer for The Sydney Morning Herald for the past decade, she became the first female chief rugby writer in the masthead’s 190-year history, covering three Rugby World Cups, an Olympics and a British and Irish Lions tour during that period.

She has a deep understanding of the complex political, cultural and economic dynamics driving Australian and international sport and was a regular commentator on the ABC’s Offsiders program and Sports Sunday on Nine.

Born and bred in Brisbane, Georgina volunteers at the Kenmore Bears Junior Rugby club, where her children play, and is a devoted ballet and Scouts mum.
