Eugénie Buckley is Managing Director of Suiko Consulting, a boutique agency providing specialist advice to the sports, major events and tourism industries. Eugénie’s expertise lies in the development of optimal competitions, structures and systems. She has driven the design, frameworks and strategic planning of many inaugural competitions, including Global Rapid Rugby, ICC World Twenty20, and A-League and W-League. She has formal legal and financial qualifications (LLM, LLB (Hons) and B Com).
She has previously held CEO roles at Brisbane Roar FC, ICC Women’s World Cup 2009 and the Australian Professional Footballers’ Association. Eugénie’s background is as a sports lawyer and she has held General Manager of Legal & Business Affairs roles for the International Cricket Council and Football Australia and was Head of Legal & Commercial, Rugby World Cup 2003.
Eugénie is an AFC Club Licensing Consultant and a FIFA / AFC Match Commissioner and was a member of the international Court of Arbitration for Sport (2000 – 2008) and a Senior Fellow of the University of Melbourne where she lectured in Event Management Law and Sports Marketing Law.
