Emily Abbot

Growing up in a small country town on the Yorke Peninsula called Minlaton, Emily Abbot is a member of the first rhythmic gymnastics group to compete in the Olympic Games for Australia.

Devoted to the sport since the age of 10, Emily has been based in Brisbane with the Australian Senior Group Team.

Emily has a Bachelor of Psychological Science with a Major in Physiology at the University of Adelaide and a career goal to be a developmental psychologist, working with people with special needs. She has experienced many setbacks in her sports endeavours, including two hip surgeries and a concussion.

In 2019 Emily competed with the group in World Cups in Pesaro, Italy and Sofia Bulgaria. She also competed in the 2019 World Universiade in Naples, Italy making history recording the highest score Australia have ever received at an international competition. Emily has a burning desire to go to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
