Ellie Cole AM

With an AM & 15 Paralympic medals under her belt including the 2 gold, 3 silver and 1 bronze she took home at the 2016 Rio Paralympic games, Ellie Cole has become one of Australia's most accomplished Paralympians.

At age three, Ellie’s right leg was amputated after she suffered a life-threatening sarcoma cancer. Rather than dwell on adversity, Ellie has instead shown an incredible ability to overcome the odds.

After outstanding success at the London Paralympics in 2012, Ellie endured a heartbreaking double shoulder reconstruction and was faced with the prospect of never swimming again. Ellie’s Rio campaign was a huge success earning 6 medals of the 6 swimming events she competed in.

Ellie announced her retirement after the 2022 Commonwealth Games. Ellie is the Vice President of the Australian Swimmers Association, and an ambassador for a number of organisations including Optus and Toyota.
