Ellie Carpenter has been a vital part of Australia's outstanding women's football team, the Matildas following her debut in 2019. The youngest member of the Australian Olympic team at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games, Ellie was subsequently Player of the Year and Supporters' Player of the year during the 2017/18 W League season and Player of the Year during the 2018/19 and 2019/20 W League Seasons. During the 2019/20 W League season, Ellie celebrated a W-League Premiership and Championship with Melbourne City and was awarded Melbourne City Player of the Year. Ellie was previously a member of the Western Sydney Wanderers and Canberra United W league teams.
Born and raised in Cowra, NSW, she regularly undertook extended travel to play football around the State and in the ACT. Ellie has also represented her state at the national level in athletics and aerobics. She was overall winner of the NSW NewsLocal Local Sporting Champions Awards in 2017. Ellie is currently sponsored by Nike Australia and VIS Aau and is an Ambassador for ANZ Stadium in Sydney.
Ellie has come to the Minerva Foundation to help develop the skills she needs to better navigate the commercial landscape surrounding high level sporting achievers.
