Ella Beere

In January 2022, Ella Beere relocated from NSW's Central Coast to the Gold Coast to further her professional career in Sprint Kayaking. Since then, Ella and her team mates have placed 2nd in the 2022 World Championshisps in the K4 500m event, and placed 5th at the 2023 World Championships, securing 4 quota spots for Australia at the Paris 2024 Olympics.

Ella first started sprint kayaking at 16 years old to improve her Surf Ski paddling in Surf Live Saving. Ella has been involved with Surf Life Saving since the age of 5 and still loves to compete when she has the chance. In Sprint Kayaking, Ella has the responsibility of being the driver of her team’s boat, a position she feels honoured to have.

Outside of competing, Ella hopes to pursue a career as a psychologist. Having already completed an undergraduate degree in psychology, Ella plans to study her honours in the near future. Ella's interest in this field was sparked by her own mental challenges she experiences as a professional female athlete competing in a high-performance sport. Ella is also passionate about self-growth and helping others, and sometimes struggles with the thought that being an elite athlete is a selfish/unproductive lifestyle.
