Demi Hayes

Demi Hayes is a contracted professional player with the Australian Women’s Rugby 7s team. Demi has been contracted since August 2016 and began playing rugby at school from the age of 16. She competed in the youth Commonwealth games in 2015 winning a gold medal, before winning a silver medal at the Commonwealth Games at the Gold Coast in 2018 with the Australian Rugby 7s team, and later that year won a bronze medal at the Rugby 7’s World Cup.

Demi recently competed at the Tokyo Olympic Games in 2021 where the team placed 5th.

Outside of rugby Demi is a country girl at heart, she loves going home to her family's property where she owns her own cows and horses.

Demi is currently studying a Bachelor of Communications and Media majoring in screen studies and public relations, and is excited to finish her degree and start to get experience in this field.
