With more than 20 years of senior leadership experience across sports administration, business development, and financial services, Debbie is a highly respected executive known for driving cultural transformation, organisational growth, and high‑performing teams. Her career spans complex, high‑profile environments, including CEO, executive leadership, and multiple Board roles, giving her a unique perspective on governance, strategy, and leading through change.
Her leadership is grounded in a lifelong connection to high‑performance sport. A committed and high‑achieving tennis athlete from a young age, she represented South Australia on multiple occasions, including selection in the prestigious Wilson Cup squad as one of the State’s top players. She competed for several years in South Australia’s premier competition and consistently reached finalist level in State and interstate tournaments across both junior and senior divisions. Alongside her playing career, she coached part‑time for a decade, strengthening her understanding of athlete development, performance pathways, and the demands of elite sporting environments. This foundation continues to shape her leadership philosophy and her ability to build cultures where people and performance thrive.
Most recently, Debbie served as CEO of Tennis SA and General Manager of the Adelaide International, where she led the organisation through significant evolution—strengthening commercial performance, elevating the Adelaide International into a globally recognised event, and championing participation growth across South Australia. Her tenure was defined by modernising work practices, empowering people, and creating environments that support excellence.
Across earlier roles in financial services—including senior positions with Statewide Super (now Hostplus), Adelaide Bank, ING, and ANZ Bank—she developed deep expertise in stakeholder engagement, business development, and strategic execution. Her ability to work confidently with diverse groups while maintaining a disciplined, results‑oriented approach has been a hallmark of her career.
Her governance experience includes Board positions with Tennis SA, Westminster College, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (SA),and advisory roles across the financial planning sector. She is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD) and a Graduate of the Governors Leadership Foundation (FGLF), complementing her academic qualifications, which include an MBA from the University of Adelaide and certifications in financial planning and marketing.
