Cate Campbell

Cate Campbell is a three time Olympian, and 5 time Olympic medallist. The eldest of five children and born in the small African country, Malawi, Cate and her family moved to Australia in 2001 when she was nine. Shortly after the move, Cate joined her local swim club and it was there she discovered both her love of swimming and her current coach of 18 years, Simon Cusack.

Since competing at her first Olympic Games in 2008 at the age of 16, Cate has gone on to achieve World Championships, Commonwealth Games titles and broken numerous World Records. Her most recent successes were at the 2018 Commonwealth Games where she took home 3 gold and 1 silver medal and at the 2018 Pan Pacific Championships where she came home with 5 gold medals. Cate will soon compete at the Tokyo2020 Olympic Games. Along with Emily Seebohm, this will be her fourth Olympics, a feat that has only been achieved by one other Olympic swimmer, Leisel Jones.

Post her swimming career, she hopes to combine her love of sport and media and is currently completing a Bachelor of Communications.

Cate on the Minerva Network:

“The Minerva Network is a group of powerful, intelligent women who are passionate about supporting female athletes. I am so fortunate to be involved in the network, benefitting from the knowledge and experience of so many successful women.

Their workshops are educational, insightful and relevant.

The chance to be matched with a personal mentor to help guide me through the different phases of my sporting journey is invaluable, particularly when I begin to navigate the tricky transition out of sport."
