Caroline Carnegie

Caroline is a director and company secretary at Melbourne Victory Football Club. MVFC is one of Australia’s premier football clubs, boasting 4 A-League Championships (and 3 Premierships), an FFA Cup title & 6-time qualifier for the ACL. Along with the A-League, the Club is proud to compete in the NYL, NPL & W-League. Caroline is also an inaugural member of the FFA (Football Federation Australia) Women's Council (WC) and the WC representative on the New Leagues Working Group, designed to agree and recommend the structure for the Australian professional football leagues moving forward.

Previously a Partner at K&L Gates, Caroline has particular expertise in mergers, acquisitions & disposals (including trade sales, management buy outs and distressed sales), contract preparation & negotiation, asset sales and IT outsourcing agreements across a broad range of industry sectors. Caroline also has a sports law practice, which entails advising many sporting organisations on their league participation arrangements, sponsorships, governance programs and more and has acted for many premier sporting organisations. Caroline also provides extensive advice to not-for-profit entities in relation to corporate governance & structuring.

For many years Caroline was the President of the Northerners at the North Melbourne Football Club. During that time, she was responsible for all facets of the group (an audited body) which included overseeing and taking an active role in management, financial, corporate marketing & sponsorships, membership and administration of the group giving Caroline unique commercial and business expertise in addition to her legal practice.

Through this role she, delivered increased & record profits & membership for the coterie, implemented IT initiatives to drive branding and was responsible for setting the future direction of the group including B2B and B2C plans. This role then established Caroline as the inaugural chair of HOCA and owner of Sporting Partners.
