Ann is one of Australia's leading business executives with a career that spans Government, Banking and Cruise Tourism.
Ann is the Chair of UNICEF Australia, Enero Group, the Port of Townsville and Queensland Airports Limited. She is the Chancellor of Queensland University of Technology, a Non-executive Director of National Australia Bank and a Member of Sydney Harbour Federation Trust.
She is the former Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Carnival Australia, the largest cruise ship operator in Australasia. Prior to this she was an executive at Westpac and was Chief Executive of Westpac NZ and Chief Executive of Bank of Melbourne.
Beginning working life as a Radiographer, Ann became First Assistant Secretary of the Office of the Status of Women advising the Prime Minister in Canberra. She was a trailblazer for women introducing the first private sector maternity leave when at Westpac. She was a Director of Rugby Australia for 8 years and the first woman appointed to the Rugby Board.
The Australian Government awarded Ann the Centenary Medal in 2001 and in 2004 she was awarded an Order of Australia. In 2015, Ann was the overall winner of the Australian Financial Review 100 Women of Influence Award.
Ann devotes considerable energy to her passions for women’s right and participation, supporting opportunity for Indigenous communities, personal philanthropy, and support of the arts.
