Amanda Johnston-Pell

Amanda Johnston-Pell is a recognised global leader in business transformation, digital sales, marketing, brand and entrepreneurship.  Her career spans 25 years across US, Europe, Canada, APAC and Japan markets in both Executive and Non-Executive roles.

She currently serves as Chief Digital Officer, Vice President Digital Sales Japan and APAC for IBM and prior to this Vice President Marketing Services Centre J/APAC, Chief Marketing + Customer Officer A/NZ and Board Member IBM Australia.  Before becoming an IBMer, she held Executive roles in Telstra, BigPond, Co-Founder & Co-CEO of a highly innovative U.S. based Tech Media Start Up and consulted on six Olympic Games, The Olympic Partner (TOP) Programme Lillehammer to Athens.

Amanda has served as Non-Executive Director AMP’s Self-managed Super Funds business and Non-Executive Director The Australian American Leadership Dialogue, a private diplomatic initiative, which brings together Australian and American leaders from government, enterprise, media, education and the community to help review and refine the parameters of the Australian-American bilateral relationship.

Amanda is a Member of Chief Executive Women Australia representing Australia’s most senior and distinguished women leaders, whose shared mission is ‘women leaders enabling other women leaders’. She is a Global Member IBM Women’s Executive Council and has served as IBM Executive Sponsor People with Disability.  She was appointed ENVOY for the Australian Paralympic Team, Atlanta Organising Committee for the Paralympic Games.  She is an active Mentor across Japan and APAC markets where she works closely with the next generation of leaders in Marketing, Customer, Sales professions and the Entrepreneur community.

Amanda is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts, University of Queensland, International Olympic Academy, Australian Graduate School of Management, Sydney University, and the Australian Institute of Company Directors. In 2021, she was the Inaugural winner of The Women’s College within the University of Queensland Alumnae Awards and was recently awarded the University of Queensland’s Vice Chancellor’s Alumni Excellence Award - for outstanding leadership in business, and for service to community, education and private diplomatic initiatives.
