Alice Kunek

Playing basketball from a young age, Alice was first selected to go to the Australian Institute of Sport from 2007. She spent two years at the AIS and was also selected for the Under 19 World Championship Team in 2009. From there Alice began her professional career with the Bulleen Boomers in the WNBL and won her first WNBL Championship under coach Tom Maher.

Alice was selected into the Australian Opals in 2012 and represented Australia at World Cup, Olympic Qualifications and won a Gold Medal at the 2018 Commonwealth Games. Alice has also represented Australia in the 3x3 at many Women's series and two World Championships, winning a Bronze Medal and placing 4th in another. Alice is currently part of the Australian Opals squad competing in the 2023 Asia Cup Championships.

Alice is currently playing in Europe in the Women's Euroleague with Sopron Basket, where they just won the Hungarian Cup and 2022/2023 Hungarian Championship. She has played overseas in France, Poland and now Hungary. With Arka Gdynia in Poland Alice won a Polish Cup and was Championships winning MVP and All Star 5.

Alice is a current member of the Australian Opals and recently competed in the FIBA Women's Asia Cup in Sydney were she won a bronze medal with the team and was selected in the tournament's All star 5.

She has signed to play with the Townsville Fire in the 2023/24 Women's NBL season.

Outside of basketball Alice has completed a Bachelor of Commerce and is finishing her last subject of a Masters of International Business. She is also completing an internship with Seven Consulting and is an NBL men's sideline commentator. She is also an ambassador for life changer foundation and is a passionate advocate for Mental Health and individuals living to their fullest potential.
