Alex is a former Australian cricket captain who led her country to World Cup and Ashes victories. She is the first woman elected director to Cricket NSW, and head cricket coach with Lancashire in the KIA Women’s Super League. After putting aside a career as a medical doctor to pursue cricket, Alex went on to enjoy working as a genetic counsellor in the rapidly changing world of prenatal and preconception genetic testing. Alex actively promotes the inclusion and respect of all people in sport with a particular focus on women, LGBTQI people and people living with a disability. Alex was named an inaugural Patron of ACON’s pride inclusion initiative Pride in Sport and is an Ambassador for SportNSW and Wheelchair Sports NSW. After completing 15 years with the Australian Women's Cricket Team, and 17 years with the NSW Breakers, Alex will continue to captain the Sydney Thunder in WBBL04 while balancing her new roles in coaching, sports administration and cricket broadcasting with Fox Sports and Macquarie Sports Radio.
