Aleena Greenhalgh

Aleena is a rugby union player who has played in the AON rugby 7s championship, for the Queensland Reds and has been a part of the Wallaroos squad 2020-present.

Originally a netball and volleyball player, although never seriously pursued, Aleena stumbled into high level rugby union by accident at age 27, when originally joining as a way to make new friends and challenge herself.

Aleena studied a Bachelor of Physiotherapy at the University of Queensland, graduating in 2013. She has a special interest in acute and degenerative neurological conditions and vestibular physiotherapy. She continues to work part time in the above fields whilst balancing her sporting commitments. Aleena is hopeful to return to the 2023 Buildcorp Super W competition after rupturing her ACL in May 2022.

Inspiring the younger generation of women in sport, providing representation and opportunities to women in previously male dominated sports is something Aleena is particularly passionate about.
