Akira Kelly was born in Randwick NSW and has lived her life within the greater Sydney area.
Akira has been involved in many different sports from a young age and is one of 5 siblings.
Akira inherited her love of rugby league from her father and further her competitive nature from her uncles who were all involved in boxing as a sport.
Akira played rugby league from a very young age and recently represented in the Indigenous All Stars playing a pivotal leadership role on the field. Akira has also represented in NSW Touch, Australian Austag, NSW Rugby 7’s, Australian Youth Olympic 7’s.
Akira’s Indigenous heritage and Aboriginal culture is extremely important to her and she is also currently employed by the KARI Foundation as a Lead with Culture mentor.
