The Minerva Network is heartbroken by the passing of Paralympian Paige Greco after a sudden medical episode.

Paige was a valued and cherished member of our Minerva community. A gold medallist at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games and multiple world champion, Paige's achievements on the track were matched only by her warmth, determination and generous spirit off it.

Minerva QLD Co-Chapter Lead Professor Sarah Kelly OAM, Minerva QLD Co-Chapter Lead, said: "This is such sad news. We have lost a bright star and are thinking of Paige's family, friends, fellow athletes and the Minerva community, to which she brought kindness and joy."

Paige's Minerva mentor, Janine Griffiths, shared,: "A very, very special young woman. Paige will always be remembered for her gentleness, kindness and humble strength. Her life touched so many people all over the world. Paige achieved so much in her career but the warmth of her smile showed everyone who she truly was. We are heartbroken. The sadness is overwhelming and our love and heartfelt prayers are with her family and those who loved Paige."

We join Minerva Athletes, Mentors, AusCycling, Paralympics Australia and the Australian sporting community in honouring the life of an extraordinary young woman taken far too soon.

Our deepest condolences are with Paige's family, friends and loved ones during this devastating time.

Her legacy, courage and impact will not be forgotten.

Rest in peace, Paige.
