Minerva Network is delighted to welcome Dr Lauren Burns OAM OLY as a Minerva Legend.

At the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games, Lauren made history, winning the first ever Olympic gold medal in taekwondo as the sport made its Olympic debut. Since then she has built a career defined by the same qualities that took her to the top of the podium: curiosity, generosity and a deep commitment to the wellbeing of the athletes who follow her.

Lauren is Chair of the Victorian Institute of Sport, Wellbeing and Engagement Manager at CombatAUS, and a member of the World Taekwondo Council. She is also a naturopath, author and researcher, and holds a PhD in athlete lifestyle and mindset. As a sought after keynote speaker, she works with individuals, teams and organisations to elevate performance, wellbeing and connection.

That focus on the whole person, rather than the result alone, sits at the heart of what Minerva Network exists to do.

"I'm so excited to come on board as a Minerva Legend. I believe in the power of connection and the relationships we build along the way are integral to not only our performance, but our health and wellbeing. Having people around us who encourage us, challenge us and help us see what is possible. Strong female role models and supportive communities can have an incredible impact, particularly for young women and girls. I am looking forward to contributing to this special community, building meaningful connections and supporting the work of Minerva in a way that creates lasting impact."

As a Minerva Legend, Lauren joins a group of celebrated Australian sportswomen who lend their experience, profile and time to the athletes and mentors across the national network.

We are thrilled to welcome Lauren to the Minerva community and look forward to all she will bring to the athletes and mentors across the network.
