Greta Hayes was born in Sydney, where, at the age of 10, she began playing hockey and fell in love with the game. She debuted for the Hockeyroos in 2018, at the Champions Trophy tournament in China, where the team won a silver medal. Off the back of this tournament, Greta was selected in the Hockeyroos squad for 2019, centralised in Perth, where she has been based since. The highlight of her career thus far was becoming an Olympian, after competing at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
When she is not on the hockey field, Greta is studying to become a nurse, and is hoping to incorporate her passion for health, inclusion and sustainability with her degree in the coming years.
