Montana Atkinson is a 15-year-old Australian swimmer with an intellectual disability. Originally hailing from Oyster Bay in Sydney, Montana moved to the Gold Coast to pursue a professional career in swimming.
In 2023, Montana was selected for the Swimming Australia National Flipper Para Swimming Squad which she describes as an absolute honour to be a part of. After achieving amazing results at the 2023 National Age and National Open Swimming events, Montana was named the Commonwealth Games Emerging Athlete for the month of April 2023.
In 2021, Montana won the Harvey Norman Gold Coast Women of the Year award for Champion of Sport and is now sponsored by Harvey Norman as an ambassador. Montana also had the opportunity to serve as the opening keynote speaker at this event the following year in 2022.
