Janelle Cuthbertson

Janelle was selected at pick 81 the 2019 AFLW draft in her first year of Australian Rules football as a mature age recruit after being identified at Fremantle Dockers' rookie talent day. After four seasons with Fremantle, in April 2023 Janelle signed with Port Adelaide Football Club through the AFLWs Priority Signing Period.

Janelle was previously a tennis player having spent 5 years at Texas A&M University completing a degree in Sports Management. As a junior she was a member of the Tennis West State Academy with a career high ranking of 153 in the world and competed in the Junior Australian Open.

Outside of her athletic career Janelle was also working in the sporting industry having held roles at the West Australian Cricket Association (WACA) where she worked to provide opportunities and growth for females in cricket, and Netball WA where she oversaw the strategic implementation of the Coach, Athlete and Officials pathways and underage state teams. Janelle is currently based in Adelaide where she is Co Vice Captain of the Port Adelaide Football Club AFLW and also works in the Commercial team at Port Adelaide FC as the Commercial Operations Coordinator.
