Alexandra Eedle

Alexandra was named as the 2020 Olympic Rhythmic Gymnastics Group reserve for the Tokyo Olympic Games. Born in East Melbourne and raised in Sydney and Dubai, Alexandra lead an extremely active childhood of swimming and dance. But, it was seeing the older gymnasts train in her school hall that made Rhythmic Gymnastics her true passion.  Alexandra has been representing Australian since 2011, aged 11, across the pre junior, junior and senior international levels. Alexandra won three national Individual All Around titles as a junior. She also won a silver medal at the 2016 Pacific Rim Championships, in Seattle USA, winning the highest medal for Australia at the competition.  

From 2019- 2021, Alexandra was based in Brisbane, as a member of the Australian Senior National Rhythmic Gymnastics Group Team. With the team she competed at the World Cups in Pesaro, Italy and Sofia, Bulgaria. She also competed in the 2019 World Universiade in Naples, Italy with the group making history recording, the highest score Australia has ever received at an international group competition. She, later became the named Olympic reserve athlete for the 2020 Tokyo Games that were postponed till 2021.

In 2022, Alexandra returned home to Sydney and to the Australian National Rhythmic Gymnastics Individual team. She splits her time between Sydney, and Italy for training. As of 2023 she is the eldest member of the individual national team. She has represented Australia at Grand Prix’s, World Challenge Cups, Continental Championships and International tournaments. Alexandra received the 'Senior International Artistry Award' at the 2023 Australian National Championship's and her team recently placed second at the 2023 Continental Championship.

Off the competition floor, Alexandra is studying a Bachelor of Communications majoring in Digital Media, full time at the Queensland University of Technology. She aims to use this degree in ways that continue to help boost the coverage of female athletes, sport and their stories
